CanJet has announced that it is offering Canadian military personnel on active duty, and their dependents, special airfares until further notice, because “Canada is privileged and proud to have the best men and women dedicated to our freedom and security,” the company says.

The special “Military VFR” (Visit Friends and Relatives) program rates are in effect until further notice, a CanJet representative says.

The program offers fare reductions for new bookings made only through CanJet’s Reservation Sales Centre at 1-800-809-7777. The reduced rates are not available for online bookings.
Some of the conditions that apply are:

  • Military identification must be presented upon check-in.
  • 7-day advance purchase is required.
  • Blackout dates: December 19-23, 2002 and January 2-5, 2003.
  • Seats are subject to inventory availability.
  • No minimum stay required. Fares do not include taxes, NAV Canada, insurance, security fee, fuel surcharge, or airport fees where applicable.

Visit www.canjet.ca/en_military.asp for complete information, and to check the flight schedule and the “Military VFR” rates.
